Bridgeways FRC aims to improve people's lives by supporting them to
become active agents in their own lives. Bridgeways conducts a myriad
of family support, community development and youth work based
programmes. The work is underpinned with the principles of community
development- equality, equity, participation and empowerment.
This work is carried out with all members of the community in
Ballymahon, Co. Longford and the surrounding areas.
WE ARE NOW RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION:
PART-TIME YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH WORKER

1 Year Fixed Term Contract
To support and work in close collaboration with the Voluntary
Management Committee and the Project Coordinator to implement the
Resource Centre?s aims and objectives as specified in the work & the
5 year strategic plan.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
* A qualification in Youth Work/Community or a relevant discipline;
* At least 1 years? paid experience of Youth Work or relevant
work;
* A good understanding of youth work in a disadvantaged area;
* The ability to liaise with voluntary, community and statutory
agencies;
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good leadership
and facilitation skills;
* Good computer skills;
* A full clean driver?s license and access to transport is
essential;
* Knowledge and understanding of the issues of poverty, social
exclusion and trauma and its impact on the local area;
* Demonstrate a strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own
initiative;
* Flexibility will be required as youth work will be conducted
outside of normal working hours/ weekends/ school holidays.
